Equipment

  • 1 (9x5) inch loaf pan

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All purpose-flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter (Softened)
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 4 ripe Bananas mashed
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Set it aside for now.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next one.
  • Add the mashed bananas, milk, and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring just until the ingredients are fully combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in a dense loaf.
  • Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for approximately 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
  • Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

Tips for Perfecting Your Banana Bread Recipe

  • Use overripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your banana bread will be. Look for bananas with brown spots or even fully blackened skins.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can lead to a dense and tough loaf. Stir the ingredients until just combined, and any streaks of flour are no longer visible.
  • Adjust the sweetness: If you prefer a sweeter banana bread, you can increase the amount of sugar slightly. Alternatively, you can add a handful of chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the batter for added sweetness and texture.
