Equipment

  • 1 Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fine noodles
  • 2 Cabbage leaves
  • 1 tbsp Chives
  • 1 small Tomato sliced
  • Asparagus spears (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Peppercorn medley

Instructions

  • Boil water: Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. This will be used to cook the ramen noodles.
  • Prepare the broth: While the water is boiling, prepare the broth by either heating store-bought broth or making your own. If making your own, simply simmer your choice of broth with seasonings such as soy sauce, garlic, and ginger to infuse it with flavor.
  • Cook the noodles: Once the water is boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook according to the package instructions. This usually takes around 3-4 minutes. Be sure not to overcook the noodles as they can become mushy.
  • Add vegetables and protein: While the noodles are cooking, prepare your choice of vegetables and protein. Sauté them in a separate pan with a bit of oil until they are tender and cooked through.
  • Combine everything: Once the noodles are cooked, drain them and add them to the pot with the broth. Stir well to ensure that the noodles are coated in the flavorful broth. Add the sautéed vegetables and protein to the pot and gently mix everything together.
  • Serve and enjoy: Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with additional toppings such as green onions or sesame seeds. Grab your chopsticks, a spoon, and indulge in the deliciousness of your homemade one dollar ramen noodle soup.

Tips for Customizing Your Ramen Noodle Soup

While our one dollar ramen noodle soup recipe is delicious as is, there are countless ways to customize it and make it your own. Here are a few suggestions to elevate your ramen game:
  1. Toppings: Get creative with your choice of toppings. Consider adding seaweed, corn, bean sprouts, or even a dollop of spicy sriracha sauce for an extra kick.
  2. Broth variations: Experiment with different types of broth to change the flavor profile of your ramen. Try miso broth for a rich and earthy taste or coconut curry broth for a creamy and aromatic twist.
  3. Homemade noodles: If you're feeling adventurous, try making your own ramen noodles from scratch. This will take a bit more time and effort, but the result is well worth it.
  4. Spices and condiments: Play around with spices and condiments to enhance the flavor of your soup. Add a dash of sesame oil, a squeeze of lime juice, or a sprinkle of furikake seasoning for an extra burst of flavor.
Remember, the beauty of ramen lies in its versatility, so don't be afraid to get creative and experiment with different combinations.
